This may seem trivial, but I can't help but feel offended. My 12 year old daughter has a very sweet friend, they have gone to each others birthday parties and get together every so often. The friend has been to my house probably 5-6 times. The mom is very overprotective, which is totally her right! That said, she texted me to today and asked if her daughter could come over to our house, she even specified a time. I responded and said she was welcome to come over anytime but I would be in and out as I had errands to run, but my husband, who she has met, many times, would be home. She then asked when was a good time, when I would be home. Clearly, she was not comfortable with only my husband being home. Can't help but feeling pretty offended by this, am I over-reacting?

I wouldn't feel offended as she is probably just being over protective. I would say she just needs more time before she will feel comfortable with it.
