Aidan will be getting an allergy test in about 3wks from now. I hope it will explain why he always seem like he has a cold. Last weekend, he had runny eyes, red, sneezing, coughing, stuffy and runny nose. Was pretty bad. Now he seems better, but still have the stuffy and little runny nose.
He always has his mouth open too, and maybe it's due to allergy?
My sister moved in with us 2 months ago now, and she brought her dog with her. So me and dh think it might be the dog too.

I hear the allergy test is pretty intense. Anyone else's LO gotten it done?

A couple months ago Michael had a bad reaction to scrambled eggs so we too him to an allergist and he got it done about a month ago - he got the scratch test i think its called where they stick him with a bunch of common allergens in his back and see what he had a reaction too. He honestly didnt really mind getting stuck and it was really quick. The hardest part was not letting him lean up against anything bec/ his back couldnt touch anything!

This is from when he had his reaction

During the test

It really depends on how they do the testing. With Robbie, he was about 2 and they pulled blood to do the testing instead of doing it like they do with adults. Good luck, KUP!

I was told it would be the skin pricks. I know aidan won't co-operate very much, so I hope it will be quick and painless.

Sam...thanks for sharing those pictures. It's good you know that he is allergic to eggs now. It's never an easy thing to go through when you're child is having an allergic reaction

Yeah really they were quick and he sort of fussed a little bit it wasnt that bad. I was picturing big needles like when he gets shots but it was nothing like that, you couldnt even see the needle it was sort of inside a plastic tube... dh was holding him and i couldnt even really tell what was going on.
