Sorry I've been MIA lately, but wanted to pop in and say hi! Jim, my 27-weeker, is starting kindergarten in a few weeks, can you believe it?!?! One of his NICU buddies will be going to the same school (hopefully the same class, we'll find out in a couple of weeks), which is super exciting. He's doing great in swim lessons and just otherwise being a regular kid. I still have to remind myself just how lucky I am that he is so easy-going. We practically never have tantrums, our biggest problem with him is getting him to listen. Which I think makes him a very typical 5-year-old.

In terms of preemie stuff, we are probably going to need to get glasses for him for near-sightedness, but EVERYONE in our family is near-sighted (DH and me, our siblings, our parents, our aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents...) so we really can't pin that on him being a preemie. Beyond that, he has nothing going on that would even remotely appear to be related to his prematurity at this point. If you'd told me that 5 years ago, I never would have believed you! He's even done taking antibiotics for his aslplenia, so we don't really worry about that anymore either. It is amazing to look back at photos from 5 years ago, and realize how far he's come!

And Maggie will be 10 months tomorrow and is a full-on walker already (although, she is nowhere near sleeping through the night, ugh...) and her favorite toy is a book. I swear she's going to be reading when she's 3! I don't mean to put Jim down because he's plenty smart, but I really think Maggie is going to be way smarter than him, in a kind of scary way! LOL!

Otherwise, things are pretty much the same with me--same job, same husband, same house, same pets... I hope everyone around here is doing well!

It's great to hear from you. It's pretty slow around here, which is a good thing and a bad thing. I'm not on JM much but I still check in on this board from time to time.

I can't believe Jim is 5 AND you have a 10 month old already! That's so awesome.
