Okay so I have gotten pretty good about the basic functions of Gimp and have been able to make some really cool blinkies. But there are a couple things I still haven't figures out and was wondering if anyone could help me.

1. I have seen in a lot of blinkies, the words twist (from the center) into the next phrase. I would love to learn how to do that in Gimp.

2. Bubble letters? Any way to have bubble letters in Gimp or to have maybe some sort of drop shadow?

3. Some of the borders around other blinkies fade into different shades. I can get the actual layer to fade, but not just certain areas.

And graphics. I figured out how to get the graphics in but when you scale your graphic to fit your layer, it gets super distorted and pixelated (if that's even a word). Or sometimes my clip art that I import ends up the same color as my background color. Any idea how to stop that?
