There are a few different part to having a website

1. domain name, this is what you own. I went through Go Daddy because it is cheap.

2. hosting. You need someone to host your site so it is actually online. I have mine hosted through WatersWeb. She has a few different packages depending on your need.

3. shopping cart. I was with paypal, but switched to Mals

4. package deals. There are places like WatersWeb where you can get it(domain name that you own, hosting and shopping cart) all in a package deal

Then you need to make your site, you can either do it yourself if you know any html, purchase a CSS template or have someone design it for you. I purchased my first template for Natural Blessings from WatersWeb, I changed the colours recently. For Mother and Maiden and my Doula site I purchased templates from Basic Templates.

My domain name was $8/year, hosting for Natural Blessings is $7/month(hosting for Mother and Maiden was $5/month), my shopping cart is free and my Natural Blessings template was $20, my Mother and Maiden & Doula templates were $5 each.

I also use GoDaddy for my domain names. I design my own websites, so I don't have any personal recommendations on hosts that provide templates. I pay only $10 a year for my webhost and would be happy to discuss that with you off the boards. Since I provide website consulting as a part of my business services, I don't like to give too much away.
