I am a medical transcriptionist, and I work from home. I really enjoy it! The training is hard work, but it is so worth it. I make over $30,000 a year working from home as a transcriptionist.

Sorry it took so long to see your question! I don't come here often. I am an independent contractor, so I actually contract with 3 different companies who are basically the go-between between me and the doctor/hospital and take care of all the business end of things. I'm not comfortable posting on a public form which companies those are, but if you want to contact me for more information or see answers to the questions I get asked most about transcription, you can visit this website.

I'm currently taking the course through that college. Slowly making my way through the medical reports. Hard to do with noisy children!

I started the training for this and found it very, very difficult and gave up. You have to be meticulously exact, which unfortunately, I am not.
