We're having our second tornado warning of the night, and I didn't want to leave Sally sleeping next to the window, so she's wide awake and playing at 10pm with us in the safest fun room in the house (not counting the bathroom, where I guess we're technically supposed to be, but this tornado is not that close, I don't think). But I'd really rather be sleeping.

Ugh, I hate tornado warnings. We're so used to them here in tornado alley, that we pretty much have to hear the "freight train" outside before going into hiding. Sounds like you got the tail end of the storm we had Wed night.

We had a tornado warning recently during Jonah's nap (and it was quite close)...so I had to bundle him up & go down into our icky icky basement. Even worse our old house has such a weird stairway & you have to duck under some beams (and I am 5ft tall so that is saying something for me to duck)...so it was REALLY awkward. We have some issues with walls weeping & we occasionally get a lost bat down there that gets in somehow???? So I REALLY hate to go down there in a storm. Luckily it passed quickly.... I NEVER want to have to do that again if I can help it. It is the LAST place I want to take a baby & it would be 10x worse if he were awake & freaking out that he wants to be down & explore. UGH.
