Sally got her shots this morning, and then this afternoon we were in a car accident (we got rear ended). We're fine, and got Sally checked out by the doctor, and now she has a brand new car sear, but I'm still a bit shaken up. My poor baby...

Oh goodness! That must have really scared you. I'm glad you're both OK. I had a teeny tiny fender bender when I was 7 months pg and it scared the daylights out of me. Took me a couple of days to truly calm down. Have a bubble bath, some chocolate, and/or maybe some wine (do it after Sally goes to bed and it will be out of your system by the next nursing session).

How much damage did it do to your car? Hopefully they were insured (OK requires you to have insurance to tag your car, but it's amazing how many uninsured drivers there are with current tags. )

The car is fine - just some scratches on the bumper. The other one was a lot worse off. What's bad is that while North Carolina law says the girl who hit me is at fault, she actually didn't cause the accident. A driver in front of me cut across two lanes to try to make a turn right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and avoided him, but she hit me.
The other family involved has been great. They called last night and asked about Sally. I feel bad for them, because I think it's a stupid law, but I guess someone's insurance company has to pay. Actually, the guy who caused the accident was driving a state vehicle. I wish we could send the bill to the government.

I am so sorry you had such a scare! I am glad everyone is okay now though..

(on a side note Michigan has the stupidest laws on this...we have "no fault" insurance meaning no matter whose fault it is - each driver is covered by their OWN insurance.... so if you hit me & my car is totalled, MY insurance pays & MY insurance goes up. Go figure!)
