I went into the hospital on May 18th at 8 a.m. to be induced. I was already 1 cm dialated so they gave me the cydotec(sp?). I walked for what seemed like forever, then they came in and broke my water. Around 1:30 or 2, they started me on pitocin and that was not fun. At this time i was almost a 2.

This went on all day, my contractions were like i was in transition, because they were coming that hard and fast. Well, they checked me again at 10 because i just thought surely i had made some progress. Well, i was still barely a two. I was so discouraged and tired. So, i decided at 11 p.m. to get the epidural even though i had origionally decided against it. It was heaven and the epidural didn't hurt like i thought it would.

The nurses came in about an hour and a half later and said the babies heart rate was dropping so they decided to check me. To my suprise they said the baby was right there almost crowning. I was really suprised because i had just sent my dad and sister home. So, we hurried and called them to come back. I pushed for 15 minutes and out she came. My dad and sister got there as she was being weighed. She was born May 19th at 1:04 a.m., and was 19 inches and 7 pounds and 10 ounces. The only bad part was the epidural didn't completely numb me down there so i could feel the the crowning and everything. I only had to have 5 stiches.

Next time i won't be so against the epidural because it was wonderful and i was actually able to enjoy the birth process and look foward to holding my baby!
