The kids were so pumped to start homeschooling we started . I found that both girls are behind in math(at lease to the horizon books). and learned they both love science. Kyren does not like change and is very negitive about homeschooling but at the same time she is the one running to show everyone her books and the board.... so I think she just needs time. Please send your prayers our way that they will love it and choose to continue for the next couple years.

How exciting, I will be praying! We are still trying to finish up Addi's pre-k handwriting and as much of the Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons that we can before we start kindy. We have a tentative start date of the day after Labor Day but nothing is set in stone.

Thank you Kiliki for my beautiful siggy!

My daughter isbehind in math from their public school too. They were supposedly on grade level there, but when we did the placement test she was 3 years behind. Once she gets home from her Dad's house we will be seriously busting our butts to get her caught back up.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my new siggy!

How exciting! I will definitely be praying for you all. I'm sure they will continue to love it.

We are using Horizons for math too. We absolutely LOVE it so far. But all the reviews and comparisons that I read seemed to say that Horizons is really advanced compared to other curricula. Especially the public schools. I wouldn't worry too much about them being "behind".

We're using Horizons for phonics too and it's so advanced that I've had to slow it down to half speed. There's 4 workbooks for kindergarten and I can't imagine we'll get through more than 2 of them this year but it looks like it's at a 1st grade level compared to other programs so I figure we're ok taking 2 years to finish it.
