Did you use an adoption agency to facilitate your adoption?
If so, do you still have any contact with your agency?

I used a local non profit Christian bases agency. They were amazing. I still have lots of contact with my Adoption counselor, she has become a great friend to me. I also help teach some of the classes that the prospective adoptive parents must go through. I love teaching the Birth Mother class, it really helps open the adoptive parents eyes to what us Birth Mom's are really like. I remember one couple was so against open adoption until after that class. They pulled me aside and told me they now want an open adoption because (and I quote) " I don't think we could ever adopt now and cut a Birth Mom out of their child's life after hearing you speak" Made me fell all warm and fuzzy inside

I did use an agency but I have had no contact with them. They have closed down since then I believe and I recently found out that the former director passed away. He was a family friend so I sort of remained in contact that way. I did not like my actual adoption coordinator at all. She made things so much harder for me at the end. Well really throughout. She was far too invasive and did not smooth things over well at all.

I would love to do something like what you do! Sounds like you help make the circle complete in a way by teaching the birth moms class.

Thanks *Kiliki* for the precious siggy!
