I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some info..

My mother is really starting to tick me off as far as my baby the fact that I won't circumcise him. I can send her websites and links all day, but she wont read them. I figure if I give her something PHYSICAL , like a pamphlet or something sent via snail mail, she will be forced to read it, and maybe even accept the facts (as long as they are from reputable sources). Also, she is a nurse, has been for 30+ years - not in urology, but I'm her only child and she knows nothing of boys stuff if you get my drift, so anything will help.

Thanks

R

I don't really have info available as both my sons are circumcised, but I wanted to ask you why is that so important? I mean, my mother is a bit nosy but I finaly realized these are MY children and she can give me her opinion but ultimately I make MY choices. I know it's hard because she's your mom, believe me, I've been there (not in a major issue like these but in tons of little things) but regardless if you give her any info or not she has to know that YOU make the choices for your children, not her. She may disagree with them, but she has to respect the fact that it's your choice. The sooner you put your foot down, the easier it becomes. I don't think that you can make her change her views and I think you should also respect her opinion, especially if you expect her to respect yours, but you can definitely show her that you will make your own choices regarding your children regardless of her personal opinion about it.
Best of luck!

Sharon

Since she's a nurse, maybe some of the books on the Doctors Opposing Circumcision website: link

My mother is also a nurse. She didn't know we had an opinion on the subject until she noticed that my son is not circumcised. She then asked when we were going to get it done. I simply told her that I hated being circumcised and no one was ever going to do that to my son. My wife and I have tried to convince her that circumcision is quakery, but she's stubborn. It could be that medical people are told over and over again that they are healers and the idea that they are willfully hurting someone can't register in their mind.

Good luck. Just make sure that she knows not to retract or use Q-tips or any of that other wrong American medical garbage on your son.

Hmm...I can definetely see your point, but there are plenty of viewpoints which do not reserve any respect.
