They use religion incorrectly. The religion isn't bad, but their judgement and using religion is hurtful to others. It's called spiritual abuse. (I have more info about spiritual abuse in my forum!)

~ actively manipulate people, usually through fear, shame or guilt, to get them to believe and "perform" in a particular way

I think this kinda describes what you're describing.

I pretty much agree with Michelle. A Christian isn't supposed to just point the path to Hell out. They are supposed to guide the way to heaven with love. Gloom and doom does nothing to inspire people, in my opinion and experience.

And just because those actions have been committed, we do not know for certain that those people are going to go to hell for sure. People's hearts change, they grow in understanding in things - God can take anything and make it better.

This is my opinion on these types of "Christians". They go to God's house every Sunday but act like orphans the rest of the week. What's sad is that there are so many people that are like this. I don't think it's my place to say whether someone is going to heaven or hell for their actions so I don't.

LOL I was told I was going to hell all the time. Then I stopped talking to my mother. (It's really not that funny, but hey whatever)

Sad - but I hear ya.

I've had my fair share of "hell lectures" as well.

I think I am going to be fine & wish others would keep whatever their religious opinion is of my life or my situation to themselves. But I think I am dreaming if I believe that will ever happen.

People like that should really apply the entire sin thing, not just selective sins... They should say, I lied to my mom, I'm going to hell, you acted selfishly, you're going to hell....I mean seriously, all sin is equal in the eyes of God AND equally forgiven for those who believe!
Even Paul who persecuted and killed Christians for a good part of His life was forgiven and used to do wonderful things for God. People can be so ignorant and I get so mad when people like that call themselves Christians.

the people that say they're christian yet don't display the morals...make me scream!!!

when i first got pregnant i had to go to the doctor bc i was having some big cramps [i just didn't have any body fat and my entire stomach was stretching no big don't worry] and i had to call my teacher and tell her i wasn't coming in bc i was having said cramps and was afraid of miscarriage...and she straight up told me that it would be a miracle if i miscarried...but when i brought it up with her supervisor she said she was christian and therefore would never say such a thing. that was the last time i saw the woman bc after i was done with the meeting i called her the antichrist and chastised her for being nothing but a fraud. and she was nothing but a right wing try to be christian but i think i can pass more judgement than god himself type. the people that call themselves christian and do the same thing as my teacher did...should get a good religion class, and go spend 7yrs with tibetan monks, bc they don't understand religion at all. they just like making judgements bc they think they're better than others. whether its against their religion or not.
