Well, identifying with or admiring someone is one thing. Invading their personal lives, stalking them, etc... is a whole 'nother. And THAT is where we need to draw the line. Yes, stars put themselves out there, but they do still have rights too. And those rights shouldn't be violated just because they decided to become famous.

I think humans are naturally attracted to beautiful people and a lot of celebrities are really good looking so that could be part of the reason why. The only ones I really pay attention to are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and of course Britney Spears because the crazy stuff she does just amuses me lol! (actually I'm kind of repulsed by her, one of those can't look away kind of things)

I agree! I equate Britney with a car accident. You don't really need to look and maybe you shouldn't look but you just feel compelled to look. You just can't help staring at the wreckage and maybe wondering what went wrong.

I read that evolutionary biologists, say, in fact, that identifying with a famous person is a natural part of human development, and it's understandable to want to emulate celebrities....but when should that stop? Is America's obsession with celebrities natural or freaky? When do we draw the line? Your thoughts....[/b]
I didn't know that about evolutionary biologist.. I'm going to have to research that more. I can't see nor understand the obsession. When I see Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Britney Spears, Anna Nicole Smith, I just wonder how low on the totem pole of evolution is a person to want to emulate that?
