The hotel heiress formerly known as inmate 9818783 made an early exit from the Century Regional Detention Facility shortly after midnight Thursday, after serving just three full days of the 45 days to which she was originally sentenced.

At a news conference Thursday morning, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said Hilton had been diagnosed with "medical issues" that resulted in her being "reassigned" to house arrest for the next 40 days.[/b]

So she has to stay in her mansion for the next month? Big deal! That would be like a vacation for most of America.

If you were her parent, she likely wouldn't be a dumb blonde with a criminal record. Seriously. The parents of this girl are proof money isn't everything and kids need their parents to raise them.

She probably had a pimple! I've heard that the sentence was originally 43 days, but that her sentence was reduced to 23 days because they would do that for 'good behavior'. How did she have good behavior??? She wasn't in there long enough for that to even be determined!!

I was just shaking my head when I heard that she got out early...of course, who really expected her to serve her full sentence? She's such a joke! Any normal person would be embarassed to be such a laughingstock! After all her "brave talk" about how she was hanging in there and she was scared....*gag* Proof that if you have enough money, the "law" doesn't apply to you!

I'm betting there will be a story next week saying she is now off of house arrest for medical reasons. It just hurts her poor wittle soul to be locked up in her 10,000 sq. ft. mansion. I think she and the rest of her posse are on a pitiful downward spiral and sadly it might end in death for some of them (DUI's, drug usage, etc.).

She won't learn anything now. She's back living in luxerury while doing a 40 day house arrest sentence. She will be back doing what she did before when she can run free. No other inmate gets realised due to a medical condition, so why should she be any different? What, because she has fame and money she can get away with it?

She won't learn anything from it now.

I am so tired of hearing about her on TV. During the news they must mention her at least 5 times! I wish she'd just go away. What is she even famous for anyway? It's not like she has done anything even remotely significant.

I wonder if the state went out and bought her a diamond encrusted ankle monitor! How come Martha had to serve her time but prissy little Paris didn't?

I was really disappointed when I heard Paris was released from jail. According to the news, the judge that sentenced her is absolutely furious and is holding a hearing at 9am Friday morning regarding her release. I really hope they send her back to jail. What was so medically wrong with her that she could not be treated and sent back? I wish Paris would go away. I'm so sick of hearing about her on the television!

Besides the porn movie that made her famous, she is apparently a model along with her sister, Nicky. I didn't even know she was a model until i seen her on the run way, i just knew she was a heir to the hilton hotels & became famous because of that porn movie.

I can't get over the coverage of this whole thing. You'd think that Charles Manson was paroled or something.

Supposedly she was on the edge of a nervous breakdown. (everyone say it with me... "awwwwwwww...") Which, IMO, is why they have a psych ward.

What? You mean she didn't like prison and she wanted to leave? But prison is supposed to be a place of fluffy bunnies and rainbows!

Well lets just go to Attica and ask all the convicted rapists and murderers if they are feeling depressed about being in prison....maybe we can let all of them go home, we wouldn't want to make their poor widdle feelings hurt!

Another thing that makes me just grit my teeth in frustration is that they keep talking about "overcrowding" :

Quote:
The Los Angeles County jail system is so overcrowded that attorneys and jail officials have said it is not unusual for nonviolent offenders like Hilton to be released after serving as little as 10 percent of their sentences.[/b]
(That's from Yahoo news)

Ummm, she's in the "special" section for famous people! She wasn't in the general population! It's overcrowded in the celebrity section? So overcrowded that she couldn't stay?

I SOOOOO hope that they make her go back!

This really pi$$es me off! It just proves that if you are famous, you are above the law. If it were any of us, we would have the book thrown at us.

What happens when she does it again and maybe kills somebody? The media kept saying how she was so upset and under so much stress..... cry me a friggin' river. There are thousands upon thousands of people in jail/prison and no one seems to give a crap about their stress.. why should be give a flying rat chit about her.

I think they would have let her out in a few days whether she was famous or not, if they are that overcrowded.

I'm mostly a lurker, but this really gets me. It seems to me that it would be pretty common for people in jail to threaten to not eat or even to kill themselves. You would think they would get used to this kind of behavior among inmates. Aren't there a lot of people IN JAIL due to some psychiatric illness?
