Sounds like she didn't consent to it if she was nearly unconcious on the bathroom floor to me.

he wasn't convicted of Rape, but rather having oral sex with a girl 2 years younger (who was NOT drinking that night) and charged with child molestation. 10 years in jail and having to register as a sex offender? I'm not sure I agree with that at all.

In a portion of a tape obtained by "Primetime," Wilson, then 17 and an honor student and star athlete who was homecoming king, is seen having intercourse with a 17-year-old girl, who was seen earlier on the bathroom floor. During the sex act, she appears to be sleepy or intoxicated but never asks Wilson to stop. Later on in the tape, she is seen being pulled off the bed.[/b]
I think that tape shows the reality.. Women being too drunk to consent.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I didn't see there was more than one page.

I don't think he should be charged. I don't think there should be an age limit to consent on any sexual activities or have anything of that being illegal. (I'm talking about minors between minors consenting kwim? NO! I'm NOT talking about a 7 ear old telling a 14 year old it's ok to touch him/her...don't go getting extreme on me now...)

He stood trial in February 2005 for five days. And at first, the jury's deliberations moved swiftly. Jurors voted to acquit Wilson of raping the 17-year-old.

I mean it wasn't even an hour," said jury forewoman Marie Manigault. "We immediately saw the tape for what it was. We went back and saw it again and saw what actually happened and everybody immediately said not guilty."

But there was one other charge the jury had to decide on. The second girl in the videotape was 15, and the age of consent in Georgia is 16. And under state law, prosecutors charged Wilson with aggravated child molestation. To those close to the young man, it was an outrage.[/b]

This boy IMO was smart not to give into the pressure of avoiding a trial even if he did not win. He knew he did not rape anyone and was not going to through the rest of his life as a sex offender, willingly. He being charged for molestation is a travesty.

The law is the law. If you don't want to be convicted as a sex offender, then don't have sexual contact with a minor, unable to consent, by law.
Most people, in every state, know the legal age of consent.

In Wilson's case, even though he is only two years older than the girl, she was 15 and -- willing or not -- could not consent legally that night.[/b]
Reading the portion about the videotape with the 17 year old, does not sit well with me either. I find it repulsive, honestly. It sounds like he got away with the rape of one girl and, thankfully, was convicted of a separate, illegal, sexual act with another girl.

I don't pity him because of his success, one of the men who raped me was in medical school with an almost perfect GPA. All kinds of people rape.

Even sodomy laws? Not all laws are right or fair.

Maybe not, plus even if he did, he could have assumed it did not apply to minors having consensual sex.

I don't, that whole jury watched that and almost immediately said not guilty. I honestly think she was embarrassed of her bad choice

Of course all kinds of people rape, but he did not get convicted of rape.

Neither did either of the men who took turns raping me.
In a rape trial, the victim is the state's witness, not the plaintiff. I was assigned a DA who didn't give two sh*ts about my case. Nevermind the fact that one jumped bail, or the fact that neither stories matched, or the fact that there was DNA evidence taken from my rape kit, or the fact that I was taken to the hospital with blood running down my legs. I, apparently, was asking for it. After all, I was wearing a short skirt and heels. I was drinking, underage. I was not a virgin. I did go home to sober up with, what I believed were, my "friends" who were looking out for my safety. BTW, these were the types of questions I was asked in my deposition. It had little to do with the attack and more to do with what I did to deserve it.
But, since no conviction was given and no sentence, now I must change my story? Sorry, I know what happened. I know how the judicial system treats rape victims, been there done that.

I don't I think it might be 16 but I could be wrong. Course I didn't grow up in this state. I thought the age of consent also didn't apply if there was 2 years or less between the minor and the other person. At least that's what I heard, but never verified it. Gurss not huh ?!

I cannot believe GA had a law making oral sex illegal even between husband and wife. Absolutely ridiculous. How is it their business what a married couple does in their own home? That is just the dumbest thing I've heard in a LONG time.

A lot of states have outdated laws that have just never been taken off the books:
The Distric of Columbia -- Washington D.C. The only acceptable sexual position in Washington D.C. is the missionary-style position. Any other sexual position is considered illegal.

Florida
A Florida sex law: If you're a single, divorced, or widowed woman, you can't parachute on Sunday afternoons.

In Miami, it's illegal for men to be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown.

Illinois
In Oblong, Illinois, it's punishable by law to make love while hunting or fishing on your wedding day.

Iowa
Warn your hubby that after lovemaking in Ames, Iowa, he isn't allowed to take more than three gulps of beer while lying in bed with you... or holding you in his arms.

In Ottumwa, Iowa, "It is unlawful for any male person, within the corporate limits of the (city), to wink at any female person with whom he is unacquainted."

Kentucky
It is illegal in Kentucky to marry the same man more than 3 times.

Minnesota
No man is allowed to make love to his wife with the smell of garlic, onions, or sardines on his breath in Alexandria, Minnesota. If his wife so requests, law mandates that he must brush his teeth.

Montana
Bozeman, Montana, has a law that bans all sexual activity between members of the opposite sex in the front yard of a home after sundown- if they're nude. (Apparently, if you wear socks, you're safe from the law!)

Another law in Helena, Montana, mandates that a woman can't dance on a table in a saloon or bar unless she has on at least three pounds, two ounces of clothing.

Nebraska
The owner of every hotel in Hastings, Nebraska, is required to provide each guest with a clean and pressed nightshirt. No couple, even if they are married, may sleep together in the nude. Nor may they have sex unless they are wearing one of these clean, white cotton nightshirts.

Nevada
In Nevada sex without a condom is considered illegal.

Ohio
Women aren't allowed to wear patent-leather shoes in Cleveland, Ohio- a man might see the reflection of something "he oughtn't!"

Oklahoma
Clinton, Oklahoma has a law against masturbating while watching two people having sex in a car.

Oregon
It's against the law in Willowdale, Oregon, for a husband to curse during sex.

Utah
No woman may have sex with a man while riding in an ambulance within the boundaries of Tremonton, Utah. If caught, the woman can be charged with a sexual misdemeanor and "her name is to be published in the local newspaper." The man isn't charged nor is his name revealed.

Utah state legislation outlaws all sex with anyone but your spouse. Next to that adultery, oral and anal sex, masturbation are considered sodomy and can lead to imprisonment. Sex with an animal - unless performed for profit - however is not considered sodomy. Polygamy - provided only the missionary position has been applied - is only a misdemeanor.

Washington
In the state of Washington there is a law against having sex with a virgin under any circumstances. (Including the wedding night).
