Did anyone watch it? If so did you like it, or no? Was this some kind of cruel joke by David Chase or what?

I admit I was initially dissapointed and angry with how they ended it...or rather the lack of an ending altogether I thought my cable went out!

But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. That ending sequence we were seeing it from Tony's perspective. It had a frantic, anxious energy-similar to what I would imagine was going on in Tony's mind. Always suspicious, always on edge, waiting for his inevitable demise. Now if you recall, in the previous episode, Tony flashed back to an episode where he was at the lake house with Bobby and they were talking about getting whacked. Bobby said something to the effect of "I bet you don't even hear it when it happens" They would not have flashed back to that for no reason. So at the end, when it became silent and cut to a black screen, I think that was signifying that he was whacked, and killed instantly. That he didn't even hear it when it happened.

So that was my take...I'm hoping I'm not the only one who watches it, because I want to discuss it but it doesn't seem very popular among mommies I'm going to watch it again tonight to see if I can pick it apart some more...

Actually that makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. From that perspective it was a pretty good ending. The last 2 seasons were still quite lame though[/b]

You mean my cable DIDNT GO OUT?

just teasing. At first me and hubby were TICKED, but then we talked about it, and I think it was intended to be a conversation starter and was done very creativly. Still kinda frustrating, but not as bad as I THOUGHT at first.

Yeah I would have to agree with your DH...the episode before the last one was pretty good but in general it was a snooze fest

I liked it - and the more I think about it, the more I love how it ended.

So many interpretations can be made, but I think the Tony-gets-whacked one makes the most sense. A friend of mine saw a fan post on EW's boards that mention a guy behind Tony that seems to approach him just before the screen goes blank. He's reaching for the salt with one hand, and has a gun in the other hand. I want to try and rewatch tonight, to see if this is indeed the case.

DH is a bigger Sopranos fan than me. He was really po'd about the ending. However, he thinks they are leaving it open-ended for a Sopranos movie in the future. Not sure about that myself.
