I just wanted to share my story with you all and see if there are any mothers who have encountered this before. My five month old baby developed allergies and has had eczema come and go we usually keep it under control with the lotion. I didnt know she had egg allergy until after getting her tested ( the egg proteins she got from my breastmilk). Anyway she had this eczema on her face a red rash and she contracted the hsv 1 virus the cold sore virus and before we knew it her whole left side of face got infected and she was hospitalized for few days
( the doctors thought it was impetigo first ). Now she is recovering but she does get occasional breakouts if i change her diet or introduce something that she may have an allergy for. So just be careful if your child has eczema and someone with a a cold sore keep the child away.

thanks for the advice! It's very easy to pick up the cold sore virus, but particularly with broken eczema.
