So, we had this discussion this time last year...as the school year winds down, what have you got planned for the summer with the kiddos?

Hmmmm. Library...swim team....perhaps a camp or two....lots of afterschooling....(all those links to go through!) and maybe a vacation or a few trips to the beach. That's about it. I want to enjoy summer with the kids.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my awesome siggy!!!

TONS! We have 2 weeks left of a 3 week summer term of homeschooling. During these weeks, we're also doing Regal's $1 movies (they were free last year ), bowling, therapy, etc. We'll do 4 weeks of summer camp, a week of VBS, 2 weeks of travel, and 2 weeks of nothing. I'm looking forward to the 2 weeks of nothing, personally!

vacation bible school, swimming, annual mecca to the homelands (southern IL), summer school for Liv ( Pre-AP World Geography), and laid back learning.

Kayla and some of her friends are re-reading all 7 Harry Potter books in preparation for the final movie. Then they will have a movie marathon.

She has Eragon and Hunger Games series on her reading list this summer as well.

The little girls will read, write to their Pen Pals in Costa Rica, and do some online learning games. They will also have some Spanish language activities organized by their TWI program.

NOTHING... playtime and cleaning out the house. Movies, pool, and martial arts if we can find the right studio.

I'm working....

But we are going on vacation in July to the UP of Michigan (were I grew up). We hired a sitter to come to the house so the kids can swim in the pool, play with their friends etc. She is a music education major so along with math & reading will also teach the kids piano & voice. DD is so excited. I don't think ds will - he's a bit young and into sports but who knows.

The nice thing about a sitter is it will save me $800/month.

We're sort of undecided. We will spend tons of time at the lake as usual, but exceptionally I am working from home right now and I need electricity and internet, and our cottage is off the grid. So I have yet to figure that out.
