My name is Claire and I have four kiddos....Beth is six, Matt is five, Carrie is three, and Katy is one. Beth is my first grader and the gifted one. Well, I am not even convinced she is in fact "gifted", but she is definitely ahead of her class. Like way ahead. I think that part of that is that we lived in a different state last year with better schools. In any case though, she is starting a pull-out program for gifted kids at her school, and I'm hoping she'll enjoy that.

I hope it helps! I'm always amazed when I hear how different the standards are in your county than in mine. I literally live less than 5 miles from your county so it doesn't seem like they should be that different!

Welcome! It really is amazing that all schools can't be more uniform in standards of teaching and expectations. It would make moving so much less of a hassle.

I'm Chrystal, homeschooling mom to Ben (turning 6) and Daniel (3 today!). The public school here won't allow any modifications for Ben, and they don't have any sort of a pull out program until at LEAST 3rd, so we're homeschooling. He's already in 3rd at home (we started 2 years ago).

Hello Hello! I know you from the large families board!

Welcome to our little board.

I have two gifted students (officially labeled that anyway) one in 6th and one in 3rd. I hope your pull-out program is better than ours.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my awesome siggy!!!

Hi! I'm Kathie. My eldest, Mia, is gifted, but I'm in Quebec, Canada where the Reform prevents the school system from even using that term.

Welcome! I hope she enjoys her new school!
