I've never read it. I'm not a huge fan of classics to be honest.

I haven't read it, but I loved the movie. I'm a huge fan of classics. There's a lot of history in that one!

Strangely I've never read it. I'm a big fan of the classics & read a good number of them. I started reading Hemmingway in 8th grade.

Yes! LOL, I read it in 5th grade along with the sequel not written by the original author- "Scarlett." Some people thought it was weird that was my poolside reading but most probably knew it was normal for me.

I've read Gone with the Wind and Scarlett too!! Loved them both. The Scarlett author also wrote a bunch of other books all set around Charleston.

I love Gone with the Wind! I read it at some point in middle school...maybe 7th grade? I borrowed my Aunt's copy, and sadly she passed away before I could return it. I still have it, as well as the second part. I don't remember it being a hard read - just long. I think if it holds her interest she will do fine.

Did she ever read "Little Women?" I read that a few years before "Gone with the Wind" I remember them being a similar style.
