About the time I was unhappy with my parent conference - we received a post-card from an small upscale catholic school. They are inviting rising 7th and 8th graders to take the admissions test for a merit scholarship. I am not catholic, but I took Erin to look at the school. It has a small class size - two classes of 18 7th graders. They teach to the highest students and the other students are expected to follow suit. They expect a lot out of the girls - oh yeah - it's a girls school. Erin loved the school. She is taking the test on March 31st. Keep your fingers crossed. If she doesn't get a scholarship, she can't go. It costs 16,000 per year. My MIL and my grandmother attended this school and they are both in heaven. I feel like it's a sign that we randomly received this post card.

On a side note - Kelsey is going to Washington College!!! She is getting $32,000 in scholarship money and that only leaves $14,000 left. She will get a student loan to cover that. She is happy. It's only an hour from here so I am happy too. I will feel better when we secure the loan though.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my awesome siggy!!!

Your siggy is STILL under construction?? This, coming from the one with no siggy either.

Yaaaaaaaaay for scholarships! Is it 4-year or just one time?

Good luck with Erin! Hope it goes well for her!

This scholarship is yearly. It's an expensive school, but they give a LOT of money in scholarships. Half is academic and half is need-based. For 14,000 per year, she can't go to the University of Delaware for that.

And yeah....by under construction....clearly I mean "too lazy to make a new one".

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my awesome siggy!!!

YAY!!! I'm so glad Kelsey gets to go to Washington College!

Crossing all crossables that Erin gets a scholarship to that school. That would be awesome!
