Just wondered what types of business letters of complaint (or compliments, perhaps) that your kids have written over the years?

Hugo's just getting into this. He's written to Chick Fil A this week. No, not over their political/religious views, ironically! It just happened that he picked now to complain about their use of peanut oil and nut products, and requested them to discontinue the use. We pass a CFA multiple times a week and he is sick of seeing it and knowing he can't eat there with food allergies.

We'll see what happens, LOL. At any rate DH marked the envelope "Not regarding current political controversy."

Actually, you should talk to the doc about that, because I THINK the type of peanut oil they use is allergy safe. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember reading/seeing/hearing about a study that said only a certain part of the peanut causes allergies, and it's not in the oil they use? I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy. I DO have friends who go there even though their kids have peanut allergies though.

As for letters, my kids really aren't into that sort of thing. Daniel has emailed his grandparents a time or two, and Ben has sent letters to friends or people who were sick, but neither have written letters to people they don't know.

The oil they use is one of the reasons why people say they have such good chicken. Doubt they'll ever change it, but that's cute that he wrote to them.

Yeah... I've warned him not to get his hopes up. It's supposedly part of the flavoring?

@ Chrystal: Some PA people eat there, since the oil is supposed to not contain the protein, but we choose not to because his is so severe he could die quickly ingesting the wrong thing. Not worth the risk for us! They also have other nut products there.

Funny, maybe he'll become politically active or just an active consumer. I definitely started doing the same thing when I was his age. My first letter was to ask a mall not to close their indoor ice rink and I believe I was also 4.
