Myself, SIL and friend all had babies within 6 weeks and have decided that we should take them all trick-or-treating together (well, we're really taking the older kids, with the little ones tagging along). Since they are so close in age, we want to dress them in a theme and SIL thought of the ogre babies from Shrek 3 which is perfect since there are 2 boys and a girl. We're all on budgets so I was thinking of sewing the costumes myself, but I'm just not sure I'll have the time to get them all done. I was thinking of something like this made of green fleece with the little ogre ears on the hood.

Anyway, to my real question. Is there anybody here who might be interested in making them or know somebody who might? Again, we're on a budget, so I'm really not sure if this is do-able, but I just figured I could ask.

I think Shrek ogre babies would be adorable costumes for Halloween. You could probably do part of it yourself. Go and look for green hooded sweat suits or white ones and dye them green with RIT dye. Then you can sew on some ears and other details. You could also use fabric glue if you are looking to save time.
The benefit of the sweat suits is that they are easy to get on the babies and they will keep them warm if it is cold out since you can wear clothes underneath.

Good luck and enjoy trick-or-treating!

Not sure if you got any other offers for this or not but I could probably do this for you if you still want to have someone make them for you?

Depending on how cheep I can get the fleece will kinda either make or break the cost. Usually the heavy really soft stuff is kinda expensive......about $7-$8 a yard. I would need probably at least 3 yards for 3 costumes depending on the size of the babies. I can get a pattern cheep for probably about $5 and I might even have one that is like that already I just have to go look at all of what I have.

I would say it would be about $15 per costume, not including shipping since I'm not really sure how much that would cost.

And I could probably get these done pretty fast, within a week or so. I can usually spit out a baby outfit in a day if its all I do and lol I'm a house wife so its pretty much all I do.

Please let me know if you still want this done, I would love to do it for you.

Sorry I didn't check this sooner. Let me check with the other girls and get back to you. My SIL has a coupon for 40% off at her favorite fabric store, so I might be able to get the fleece and mail it to you, if that works. Also, in the movie all of the babies have diapers and two have a little tuft of hair. Is that something you could add? Here's a couple of links... #1 #2
