Honestly, before I had Ava, I was not organized at all. Now, I have to be. I write everything down. I also keep everything medical related. I'm always fighting with insurance, so I've become much more assertive, which works much better when you can find everything you need on hand.

How about you? any tips?

Thank you, tasha_mae, for my siggy!

Medical: I keep records of every appointment, every lab result, every med dose, every scan and the results. I have printed copies of all lab and scan results in a notebook in the order in which they were done and all CT scans on CD, and of course each of my kids has their own notebook. All medical supplies are kept in the same place at all times, and we have a small kit we keep in our van.

Schoolwise: Everything has a place and it goes there. But the schedule is completely wacky (due to all the appts)

House wise: Can't say I'm organized with the house itself, but I clean it every day top to bottom and sanitize everything that Joey plays with.

Since having Ian, not nearly as much as I used to be. But Kyle also came off oxygen before I conceived, and had dropped most of his daily meds by then - so our needs changed.

There are some things that I'm religious about though. Where we keep his food, syringes, back up supplies, medicine and occasional/emergency supplies. I get agitated when I go to get something and it's not there - because I'm running so much with his school & therapy schedules, it needs to be there when I grab it - sometimes I have only a few minutes before having to leave again.

Downstairs we keep Formula, Syringes, G-tubes, extensions, daily medicine, travel nebulizer, and a second food pump charger.

In the boys bathroom upstairs, we only had one sink and vanity installed - but a full countertop. On the open underside half, I have a 3drawer rolling cart filled with backup supplies and extras. I also keep the non-daily meds there, like cold stuff, thermometers, stethoscopes, chest thumper, suction pump, oxygen tubing, extra atomizers, the main bigger nebulizer pump (which we rarely use), etc.

I keep oxygen on both floors, one in the coat closet downstairs, the other in our bedroom. I also have a master tank stored in the garage with for emergencies. Kyle isn't on oxygen anymore, but we've found after big seizures and when he's particularly ill - we need it, and use it to get to the hospital and avoid having to call an ambulance.

My DH actually keeps the appointment schedule. I relay the dates to him, and he keeps the calendar updated. Mostly because I call him as I'm making the appt to make sure it works with his schedule - as he often watches Ian those days.
DH (44) ~~ Ian 2/22/07 37wks ~~ Kyle 12/30/03 23.6wks ~~ Konner (Twin Angel) 12/26/03, 23.3 wks

I'm usually super organized and it carries over to my life with Carter too. I am so glad someone else said "fighting insurance companies" it's maddening and you DO have to be organized!

However, there are days I get SO TIRED of fighting every day for everything, some days I just let it all crumble, but I always pick up the pieces and pull it together...eventually.

I'm reasonably organized, but not as good as I ought to be. I've gotten a lot better, but I haven't quite found the system that works for me yet! Our poor physical therapist, I am so bad about getting to those appointments on time

Thank you Jaidynsmum for the siggy!
