It went pretty well I think. They gave me some sheets to fill out to help them determine if he needs to be tested for PDD or not. They don't think it'll be necessary, but want to be sure. We're going to go back for developmental testing as well as articulation and expressive/receptive language testing. The speech pathologist thinks he has a pretty bad tongue tie that nobody spotted or thought to mention so I have to get him scheduled with the pediatrician to check that out and get it clipped if need be. They think that he has oral hypersensitivity of the gag reflex brought on by his tonsils and possible tongue tie so once we know if the tongue is an issue or not he'll be getting help with his eating as well. She said 9 chances out of 10 that he's going to need speech therapy and the other women (the case manager and psychologist/chair member) weren't able to understand him much at all.

Anyways, I think that just about covers it. I'll take him back to the speech pathologist for that testing on the 23rd and she said to bring the PDD sheets to her and she'll pass them on to the psychologist before the decide whether or not to schedule further testing in that area. So we should know more on the 23rd. Hopefully sooner if I can get him in to the pediatrician before then.

ETA: He goes to the pediatrician on the 22nd for a well visit and to check out his tongue. We'll at least have an answer on that before his speech tests.

Thanks ladies. I'm hoping they decide he's in the clear for PDD and he really does just have a nasty tongue tie. I can't believe the possibility never occurred to me sooner.

Sounds like a lot of good information to help with the puzzle, at least! I always wish for clear cut answers out of evaluations but they never seem to come. I hope they can cross PDD off the list!

Thank you Jaidynsmum for the siggy!
