Are any of you from Kalamazoo MI? I am wondering what you may have experienced at the hospitals there? Any reviews on practitioners?

I'm not from MI, but DH is from Niles. It's only maybe just over an hour from Kzoo.

I'm from Kalamazoo!

I only have experience with Borgess Hospital. I think more people choose Bronson for giving birth but I like Borgess. I had DD at Borgess last year via emergency c-section and the nurses were amazing. I think that Borgess looks at people as a whole person rather than just a medical condition, if that makes any sense. With the pregnancy "package" at Borgess you get free pregnancy massages throughout your pregnancy.

This pregnancy I have an awesome OB/GYN and she is on board with me trying for a VBAC. She herself has had a successful VBAC. She really cares about her patients, she even gave me her personal phone number so I could call her if I was worried about something (my first pregnancy had some complications).

Thanks for our feedback. It's taken us a while, but we are ()THIS CLOSE to moving to Kzoo again. I am pregnant now and am hoping for a vb2c in April. DH has an interview on Friday, so depending on how that goes, we maybe moving very soon!

I'm going to try to get my sis to post to this. She's delivered at Bronson and Borgess. I've only been to Bronson but never had a baby there.

I did go to an OB/midwife practice there before we moved and that's when I had my ectopic and lost my tube. I am still bitter and angry and blame them for the loss of my tube. I say this because they missed it on ultrasound. They even told me they saw it on the u/s when they looked at it again later. They were monitoring my hcg levels and they were not doubling like they should. Combine this with me having a history of ectopic pregnancy and calling them telling them I was having pain on one side. I don't think my ectopic should have been missed and I wouldn't recommend this practice because of this. Not to mention, they treated my sister poorly after her miscarriage. I don't want to post the name but this practice delivered through Bronson.

If I were to have a baby in Kzoo I would go to Borgess. Bronson is a nice hospital but I think Borgess would be more what I was looking for.

I don't live in Kzoo now and the only vbac friendly hospital I could go to was Spectrum. Shawn wasn't delivered there though because my labor was so speedy I couldn't get there in time.

Thanks Patty, for sharing your experience with me. I am pretty sure we'll go with Borgess, as it the closest to where we want to live. I'm not sure what our insurance will cover though (which hospital). DH is currently waiting on a phone call back from the interview about the job, so we're hoping he'll get an offer so we can move!!!
