I just got back from my RE appointment. I just wanted to discuss our options and see if they wanted to run any tests on me before the end of the year (since we've met our deductible everything is 100% covered right now.)

I actually saw a PA instead of the doctor I was scheduled to see but I was glad because she was great . She has me scheduled for an HSG next week, just to make sure my tubes are clear. Then she talked about the possibility of doing IUIs if DH's counts go up after his varicocele surgery. They like to see at least 10 million motile sperm and at his last check in June he had only 4 million motile. She said we *could* try an IUI even if things don't improve, our chances would just be much, much lower. Then she asked if we had considered IVF if his counts don't improve. I started crying....hearing those 3 letters is sooo hard. I said we already have adoption paperwork and we just can't spend that amount of money and not have it work. She told me we would more than likely qualify for the IO-WARRANTY program (this is at the University of Iowa) and if you don't get pregnant or you miscarry before 10 weeks you get all but $4000 back. She also said she thinks I have a great chance of it working the first time b/c I'm young, healthy, have had a successful pregnancy before, and the U of I has some of the best success rates in the country. Sooo.... it's something to think about. It might be more of any option than we thought. We'll see. Hopefully it doesn't come to that though.

I'm glad you had a good appointment! The PA you saw sounds wonderful! I hope the HSG goes smoothly for you! Not sure if they'll allow it but I took some Ibuprofen before mine to help with the minor pain that some people have. Good luck with the decision to move onto IVF or adoption if the IUI's don't work for you.

***A HUGE thanks to marriedc for the awesome siggy!***
