during tech school (even though tech school is 2 years long) sucks.

Carry on.

How much time off did your husbands get when you had babies?

Right now DH is in tech school (the eternal tech school) so he basically gets no time off when I have the baby (unless he agrees to start his class over and extend his 4 year contract to a 6 year contract). I was just wondering how it will be different when we have another baby at our PDS.

With the new policy, they get 10 days of paternity leave. I do not know how it works if they are in school though.

Dh only got 10 days when Noah was born but this time he's taking a full 30 days But we are on shore duty so I know it's easier to take time off then.

The first 10 days were free but the next 20 he will get charged for.

We took two weeks of charged leave when Asher was born. This time he will get 10 days that will not be counted against leave.

DH was in his specialty school when we had DD. We were lucky he was there for the birth and each night, then bringing me home. She was born in DEC so he had the holiday brake. With DS he was at a shore station so he could take as much time as he had on the books. At the time he only got 5 days that weren't charged. I had not heard you get 10 now that is awesome.

Thanks .:Shortcake:. for my great siggie

With Kate and Sierra, he got 5 days off and pretty light duty the week after that [like show up, go home at noon or so]. With Noah, he will get the full 10 days of paternity leave after R&R since he was deployed when Noah was born.
