Im feeling torn about having dh come home to see the baby. I mean, I really want him there, dont get me wrong, but it seem slike a big hassle. Since we had that $600 stolen it would really break us for him to buy plane tickets, and the airport is 2hrs away, so someone would have to spend gas money to come get him and take him back. Not to mention he has his phase 5 ftx training starting Sun, so Im pretty sure he cant leave in the middle of that. So by the time he comes she will have born and possible a week old already. Graduation is only about 6 wks away, so Im thinking he should just stay there and focus on what he is doing. Some of his buddies have laptops and one has internet access, so I told him I could send him lots of videos. So is it wrong for me to have basically talked him out of coming back? I mean I know its a huge thing that they were going to let him come back.... Am I a bad army wife already?

No, actually, I think you're a GREAT Army wife for putting his needs ahead of your own, especially RIGHT now.

Personally, I would want my husband to be with me during labor and delivery because he's my best friend and my biggest supporter. However, if he's not even going to be there for the birth and she'll already have been born and at home a week ... I can see why it'd be too much of a hassle to have him come home and then have to leave again.

I"ve had to make decisions like this before. I wanted to really go see dh's WTC graduation in July and I kept flipping flopping about it. I really wanted to be there to support my husband, but I had to think financially was it a good idea. Finally, I wound up working 45 hours over in over time and was able to fly to New Mexico to see him graduate. I don't think what your doing is bad. It sounds very economical and makes perfect sense to me. If you wanted too, you could see if Dh could get a day off when u go into labor set up ur lap top with a web cam and let him watch you deliver via your web cam! That way he's there, but not there u know?? That's what I would do if I was in ur situation.

Yeah, webcams are awesome for things like that. Check with the hospital you're delivering at to see if you can do that!

Thanks girls!! I just feel bad becuase I know how bad he wanted to come home. I mean if he could come for the labor/delivery part, I would be all for it. But I really doubt that will work out The web cam is a good idea, but I know my hospital doesnt have that, lol. We are in a tiny, tiny town and tiny hospital. I will just take as much video and pics as I can.
