This is a tutorial for making a realistic shadow. This is the photo I'm using.

Before you start, select the photo you want to use, edit it and resize it to your liking.

Open a new page (800 x 600 is what I used for this tutorial.)

Step 1
Once you have your photo edited and resized, paste it to the new page as a new layer.

Step 2
Place the photo to the side of the page.

Step 3
Drop your shadow, adjust the shadow settings to your preference.

Step 4
Select the perspective tool.

Step 5
Click on the shadow drop layer in the layer channels

Step 6
Select the corners of the top of the shadow and pull down and at an angle, press "transform"

Step 7
Merge the "clipboard" down (the top layer in the layer channels)

Step 8

And it should look like this:

I hope this helps!!!!
Wife to Chris (9.17.04)-Mama to Edward (7.15.05)-Preston (5.28.08)-Mason (11.4.10)-
Baby #4 and Baby#5: Born into Heaven - Joyce (3.22.17)

Fun isn't it. This would have been helpful years ago, I had to fight and yell at myself and GIMP to figure it out

Thanks for posting it Brandi, it will be super helpful for others just learning(or possibly some others that just dont know it yet)
