How do you use a steamer?! Help!

I am going to do my placenta encapsulation today...but I just realized---I don't know HOW to use my steamer! LOL Its the pot kind with one big pot on bottom and a wire basket thing on top. So HOW do I use it?

Well I *think* you would just fill the bottom with water and then put the placenta in the basket and turn it on. I do lots of water and just check on it to see when it's done? How do you know when it's done? haha. I never know how much water to use.

You could also look up the instructions for your particular one online. Just look up the make and model or whatever.

i use mine all the time, it should have markings on it for how much cold water you should put in for how long you want it to cook. I.e. blah amount for 30 mins. If you're not sure how long it will take, put as much as it'll hold and do as Steph says and keep checking on it.

As Missi said in the double posted thread, there should be a lid - without the list it's no use as it traps the steam inside and this is what cooks things.

Yep.. Just like fiona & steph said. Put water in the bottom part. Let us know how it goes. Give us a mini update too!

Ok I may be dumb here but can someone explain to me whats shes doing ????

I know with steamers theres a certian level of water (marked out with markings) for certian times ..... I would google the modle and look for instructions
