I had a scheduled c-section, and had to be at the hospital at 5:30am. I couldn't sleep at all, so I went in with maybe 2 hours of sleep. We got up to L&D right about 5:30 and they showed us to our room. My doctor was already up there delivering another baby, and she was also inducing another girl, so the floor was pretty busy!

I got changed into a gown, and lab came in right away to take blood, and I got my IV put in. Had to sign a lot of paperwork!! They didn't have to shave me, thank goodness!!, because I had shaved it down enough myself. But they put in my catheder, which hurts so bad!! Then they came in to put in my epideral. It literally took 2 hours to get everything done.

Right about 7:30am they wheeled my bed into the OR. It was so cold in there! I also had the shakes so bad, from being cold and from nerves. Once they got everything prepped and the sheet put up, they let Chad come in. He sat right by my head and held my hand, but once they started to pull Paxton out they let him stand up and watch. When they first started, I didn't even realize they had started until I asked if they had started yet. I didn't feel anything until they started pushing really hard on my stomach to get him out. Paxton was crying before they even got him all the way out.

He was born at 7:58am, weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces, and was 20 inches long. I was so surprised he was under 8 pounds, he is my smallest baby of the three.

They took him over the the warmer to clean him up, and they let Chad cut the cord, I was really surprised since it was a c-section. I was able to watch Chad cut the cord and them to clean Paxton up. They brought him over to show me, and then Chad took him to the nursery. We had a bunch of family waiting out in the hallway.

I was still in surgery for quite awhile. During the c-section they tied my tubes, so the surgery took longer than a normal c-section. I was awake the whole time, laughing and talking with the doctors and anestegiologist. Finally at 9am I was brought back to my room. All my family and my kids were already in my room, and dh was holding Paxton. I finally got to hold him for the first time!!

He is so precious and tiny!! So far he is really laid back, likes to sleep, and hardly cries. The first 2 days he was having a hard time with sucking and not wanting to eat. But finally last night the breastfeeding started to get a lot better. I'm hoping the breastmilk starts to come in more soon! He's getting a little jaundice, but the dr says it's nothing to worry about yet.

I'm recovering well from the c-section. The first day was pretty rough once the epideral started wearing off. They had me up and walking about 5 hours after surgery. I had all the tubes and wiring taken off about midnight that night, so i had to get up and walk to the bathroom often. Now the pain meds are working well, and i can get up and walk around without much pain.

We should be getting out tomorrow (Monday the 11th) and I'm so ready to take this little guy home!!
