This is a Southern Living recipe

1 large onion sliced into rings
3/4 tsp. black pepper
1 (4lbs.) beef brisket, trimmed and cut in half
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
3 tbsp. brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 c. beer
1/2 c. chili sauce

Place onion rings in crockpot.
Coat beef in pepper.
Place beef over onions
Mix together the rest of the ingredients. Use a whisk.
Pour mixture over beef and cover with lid.
Cook on high heat for an hour then turn down to low.
Cook 6-8 hours.
serves 12
