do your skids gain weight while visiting the other parent. Oviously this would be geared more twords custodial stepparents. My SD gained weight signifigantly over her summer break with BM. She went from a size 7 to size 10. It was almost 10lbs in gain. Since she came home she has already lost 4 lbs.

I am not one of those that point fingers. We have a very strict regimine here. SD eats 2 cups of fruits and veggies a day here. She usually has salads, bulky ham sandwiches and dairy for lunch. always really healthy. We dont keep pop, or cheetos or anything in the house. Its only milk and water, occasionaly cool aid. There are no junk food snacks in our house. So any change in diet, even if BM thinks she is giving her healthy food, is not going to compare anyway. It is just a victim of two different households with two different sets of eating habits. I cant very well tell SD not to eat what she is given on visitation.

anyone else deal with this? how do you handle it?

We haven't had an issue with this. Of course the step-kids usually only spend 1 or sometimes if they're lucky 2 nights per month with their mom, even during the summer. Our problem is that she doesn't feed them three meals a day. If they sleep late, she figures she can go straight to lunch and skip breakfast.

I know when S is with her dad she eats a lot of fast food. With me she always has healthy food with a happy meal thrown in here or there.
