I just don't know if I can handle it. We spent last night in the ER with a knee injury. It is only a severe strain and should be ok. He is in a brace and done with Spring Training. This is the first year he decided he wanted to play so I let him and we end up in the ER! In the past three months this kid has hurt his back, gotten 2nd degree burns and now his knee! Thats it, I am ordering bubble wrap!

On another note, we broke the news to Dani about her not being able to go to her dad's for a while. She got understandably upset and cried. We cuddled her and talked to her and I explained that it is my job to keep her safe and I will let her see her dad if he wants to meet at the park or Chick-fil-a as long as he is not drinking. Jonah said when he was putting the kids to bed last night after Robert got off the phone with his mom, she said she probably would never get to see her daddy again because he will never stop drinking beer.

I have talked to her school counselor to get recommendations on a good counselor for her.

Thank you JMC1988 for my siggy!

*hugs* DH is very anti organized sports because of the injury risk. I played, I got banged, broken and I suffer for it daily now.. so I can understand his feelings. I'm sorry Sean hurt his knee, maybe a different sport is in order?

Aww, Dani broke my heart. it's so sad when a child realizes that their parent isn't willing to give up something for them.

I'm sorry he got hurt! My oldest son, James played football all 4 years of high school. Senior year he played every snap of the ball. We had broken bones, concussions, sprains, you name it. But there was no way I could have made him quit. He loved it too much and I loved watching him play.

There is risk, to be sure with football, but I could not imagine the trouble he could have had in high school had he not needed to keep his nose clean for sports.

I'm sorry that he got hurt! I hope that your family can come to a decision that everyone can agree on and feel good about. I have no good advice - none of my dsc are all that interested in sports to begin with and as a kid I only played softball, soccer and basketball (all of which come with a lot less risk than something like football ).

*Excitedly expecting baby girl number two!*

Thank you to Babydoll213 for my fabulous siggie!

Sorry he got hurt. I hope my boys don't go into football. But if it's something that they love, I'll stand by and watch.

❤ Big Thanks to Vicki, trishosaurus, & Shortcake for the great siggies of my kids! ❤

That's a bummer that Sean got hurt. I'm not a big fan of football either. I hope Noah won't want to play but at the rate we're going he probably will. I won't stop him if that's what he really wants to do. He's a natural athlete and gets so much joy from sports. I only hope he sticks to baseball & basketball.

My heart goes out to Dani. I have a little girl who's bio dad wouldn't do what he needed to do to keep her in his life too. It's heart breaking.

I am going to let him keep playing unless he has a major injury, but I think I liked him doing Archery better. Unfortunately the high school does not have an Archery team. I will be sitting on the side line cheering him on and praying he doesn't get hurt. He is my accident prone child after all!

Thank you JMC1988 for my siggy!
