Things are going so well in our short and sweet time of planning! We are planning for around 100 people, which is very small for our family! It is very helpful that the groom's Mom is a lifelong friend and on the same page. Here are some of our highlights:

* We have decided to use all of our own (and some borrowed) china. We have accumulated 81 plates, so far, and have 2 more people who need to count theirs and get me the number to add to it. cost- FREE!
* We had silverware donated from a country club that got new stuff, so we have 216 forks- enough for dinner and dessert- and they match!!!! We also have 83 spoons and 66 knives, so we will fill in with our own there. FREE!
* We have heard about a restaurant supply place that has water goblets for around 65 cents a piece. Considering the price of plastic goblets is 50 cents a piece, I will pay the extra for something we can reuse! We have some of our own, so we will only buy what we need to get to 100.
* My daughter wants to incorporate peacock feathers into the flowers. We know a family in KY, where we just moved from, with a peacock, so we were going to have them mail us some feathers. Then my sil told us a number of her neighbors have peacocks! We went knocking on a few doors yesterday and scored a big bunch of beautiful feathers- FREE! And we heard one of the other neighbors has a white peacock, but they weren't home. We'll go back! * The wedding ceremony will be held at my bil and sil's home in an exclusive fancy community in the country. FREE!
* We were considering renting a tent, but with a New Year's Eve afternoon wedding, it could be cool and we decided we will need the sunshine for warmth. That saved $1500! No tent = FREE!
* Because it is one week after Christmas, my bil and sil will still have lights up and are willing to decorate with little white lights, so that cuts down the decorating time and expense! We are just buying some white paper globe lights to hang in the big tree, And they are on clearance from summer!

As you can tell, I'm excited! I will share more as time goes on. Gotta go for now!

Cool! Sounds great! (remembering from my rehearsal dinner..) The tent is helpful for lighting, because you can hang lights from them easier than the trees... but either way it will be beautiful!
