Are you the greenest person you know IRL? If not, who?

Pretty much, at least I am the greenest person I know here in Hawaii. Back in California there was one person more green than me, she grew most of their own vegetables and even grinded her own wheat (didn't grow it but grinded it herself) into flour. I was jealous, I think if I told Dh I wanted to do that he would just laugh.

I think I am. I know one other woman who is pretty environmentally conscious but I think I am a bit more.

Hmm... that's a good question.

The people at home are greener because they have to be. NS law requires full recycling (organics, refundable bottles, plastic-metal-glass, paper and cardboard). We can't do all of that here, either because they don't do it, or we have no place to do it. But they tend to be less thrifty and desire less greenness in general.

I don't know of anyone my own age, or even close to it, that's green at all. Most people think I'm silly for using all natural detergent even if it's for allergy reasons! Our dish soap switches tomorrow

Overall, yes, I'm the greenest person I know in real life. Other people however, do lots of the same things I do, just not all at once. Either someone makes their own laundry detergent and nothing else, or someone else cans their veggies from the store/garden and nothing else, or someone grows a better garden than me but then doesn't preserve the veggies, some people sew their young children's own clothing or some only buy used, etc. Some people have bees and get their own honey or do more of the farm life than I am doing right now (only for lack of space and ability {read here hoa rules} not because I don't want to) but then nothing in their home is green. So when it comes down to it I'm the one that has the most things incorporated into our daily lives.

I am. And I find that sad because I am no where near as green as I would like to be.

I am very green compared to most people I know - though Anne, like you, I still want to be greener.

However I'm not the greenest person I know. DP is. He brought use of eco-friendly products into our home. He is interested in solar panels and growing your own food, as well as foraging, and got me into that. He likes to shop organic and health food. He's a vegetarian-used-to-be-vegan. He has been in court for green activism in his younger and wilder days. He's an inspiration, and this is one of the many reasons why he's perfect for me.
