Does anyone lend you a book because they think you'd be interested in it... but you're really not? Have you read a book just to tell them you read it? I am and have... maybe this is more about me needing a back bone but I thought I'd ask anyway!

LOL! My sil did that to me once. I lent her a book and every time the subject came up she kept telling me it was great and blah, blah, blah. When she returned it, I found some pages were kinda stuck together, which meant the book hadn't even been opened! I hadn't read it when I gave it to her because at the time I was reading something else so I didn't mind giving it to her first.
I never mentioned that to her, I thought she might feel bad. My dh (well, it's his sister after all) did say something about the pages being stuck together and she said that she didn't read it all, she skipped some parts. It was non-fiction and each chapter was pretty independent, so it's a believable explanation.
