Anyone ever watch the show (Showtime) or read the book(s)? I watched the first 3 seasons and then discovered it was based on books (there are 4, and the 5th is soon to be released) so I got the first book and just finished it. It was very good, couldn't put it down, very well written...though I think he used the word "dizzy" too much lol. But this is the first instance that I have found the show to be better than the book. I am astonished! I will still read the other books in the series.

Have you ever found the movie/show to be better than the book? I thought it was impossible!

I've never seen the show or read the books. I didn't even know the show was based on a book lol.

The Vampire Diaries is based on a book too. I've only flipped through the books, but from what I've scanned I like the show a lot better.

Thank you tasha_mae for the awesome siggy!

I love the show! I have not read any of the books yet, but all of them were/ are on my Christmas list. I'll probably buy myself at least the first one with the money I got for Christmas. I'm sure that the excessive use of the word "dizzy" has to do with Jeff Lindsay's inclination toward alliteration in the series - which is often reflected in the dialogue of the show as well. You can see it in the titles of the books: Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dexter is Delicious, Dexter After Dark, etc.
