Hi ladies-

I just had my 1st baby in May. I breastfed for a couple of months and got my 1st period a couple of months ago. I noticed the 1st cycle that I felt so awful. Almost thought it was PPD really late! Then as soon as I got my period, I was fine! This is month 3 now and a week or two before each period I get depressed, resentful, sluggish, and just unhappy in general. I read up on PMDD and it sounds right on the head with what I feel! Is this common to develop after a baby? I've never even had PMS before so this is unusual for me! I don't know if I should just wait it out for call the doc...

I can't say how common it is, but it never hurts to talk to your doc when you're feeling that way. S/he may have some helpful suggestions on what you could do to help you get to feeling better. It's not fun to spend that much time a month feeling that way. I hope you figure something out. Let us know what you decide and how you are doing. The ladies here are really supportive.
Thank you *Kiliki*!

Is your six month check up coming soon? I would call and tell them you expect you have pmdd. I would ask to see a psychiatric so they can rule out all other issues that may worsen pmdd. Pmdd seems to be treated with an SSRI that's why I strongly suggusted seeing a psychiatric because they have more education in this.
