I have had trouble getting pregnant while on psychiatric medications. Both times of going off my medication for longer than six months I got pregnant, but I miscarried both pregnancies. Does anybody else have trouble getting pregnant on psychiatric medications? I am currently on Haldol deconate and ttc for about a year. My doctor does not want me to go off this medication that is treating the bipolar One (severe manic depression that cycles). This medication keeps the mania at bay and prevents the cycling that starts with the mania so I don't get the crashing depression that comes after. I have been on numerous psychiatric medications and haldol deconate is the only one I have been stable on for more than a year. I am 38 and without any children of my own. I feel the only way to get pregnant again is to go off my medication again, but I am afraid that I will end badly because my manic depression is so extreme and severe. Any tips on what I can do to get pregnant on the Haldol deconate or any antipsychotics that work for extreme manic depression bipolar One that they got pregnant on?
