Traditional Colleges

If you go to this site, select your state in the 3rd yellow box that says "Search for Schools". When the second page pulls up in the middle of the page it will say "Article Results", it should be the first link under that. It will say "Top (your state) Colleges and Universities. Once you click on it, you will see the top ones for your state.
Your guide to a high school diploma or GED, college degrees & diplomas, and career research for after graduation

Technical Colleges

Once you click on this link all you have to do is click on your state on the map below. It will bring up several of the technical colleges that have been requested in the last month. You can also narrow it down by city.

Online Colleges

When you click on this link all you have to do is read! There are several of the top rated online colleges listed. I personally wouldn't click on the link, and instead go straight to the school website. You can find more information out that way and won't be hounded by them if you decide it's not the place for you. Once you find one you like you can request more information straight from the school's website.
Best Rated Online Colleges - Top University Ratings and Reviews

I am by NO means suggesting these are the best school for everyone, just the ones that are the highest rated. You should research any school before you decide on getting a degree through them. Some of the most important things to find out about a school are:

Online Colleges
  • Make sure the college is accredited
  • If you have prior credits find out if they (& how many) can be transfered to your new college
  • Services such as career centers, this allows you to speak with a counselor and discuss what the best course for you would be and what your employment options will be after graduation
  • Price- Most online colleges are competitive in price but you may have to look around a bit for traditional and technical colleges. Find out what type of financial aid is offered as well
  • Read reviews, but remember that ALL schools are going to have angry student...you can't please everyone all of the time so look at what the majority have to say
Here is a website that tells a bit more
Questions to Ask Before Enrolling in an Online College

Tradition & Technical Colleges

I found a wonderful website with information on the questions you need to ask and what you need to do so I'm just going to list it.

Capella University should be up there as an online school. UOP is slowly going down hill. So glad not with them anymore.
