Hi everyone!

I'm a first-timer & due in October. I really need to take a class in the fall to finish my master's degree (it's only offered in the fall). Would it be totally unreasonable to just take the one class, assuming I can take a week or two off to have the baby? Has anyone done this? Sorry, this is my first & I have no idea what to expect.

I am going for my Associates right now and when I had my daughter in Oct 05, I took the semester off and it's taking a little longer to get my degrees but it's worth it. In your case maybe you can still be in classes and just talk with your teacher and hope that he/she will understand that you might not be in class during the time you are due. Good Luck with everything.

I'm due in 5 weeks and our semester ends in early June. I cut back to part time but am continuing to study. Is there anyway you could do the class online or organise for some alternative assessments etc??

I think its really going to come down to having flexible and supportive lecturers. Most of mine have been great, and I think most would be, as long as you keep them updated on anything thats going on. My advice would be to talk to the unit chair or equivalent and see what they say.

The hardest part for me so far has been focusing on study which seems so boring when I could be setting up the nursery or looking up baby stuff online, or (and this is the worst) spending all day on JM!!!
