I am visiting my family in Indiana. They have a MASSIVE suburban and my two younger cousins James and JJ do not pass the 6 step test in the front captains chairs. I have them sitting in backless turbo boosters and they don't mind but I don't think they'll keep it up when I leave. In the way back they fit fine, they just don't like sitting there because they can't see the dvd player.... They are 8, 88lbs and 11 and 73 lbs. How can I convince them to stay boostered?

What about buying them their own portable dvd players for the backseat only? I've seen them at Toys R Us for $40. Getting their own dvd player is a pretty good bribe and $40 isn't that huge of a cost. Plus, they get the added benefit of watching only what they want to watch, instead of fighting over what is on the dvd player in the front.

It could also work with handheld games, if they don't already own those.

I'm jealous of all the cool gadgets kids have these days! Car rides when I was a kid consisted of books, books, Go Fish, and "MOM, KENNY WON'T STOP TOUCHING ME!!!"

I guess what I really wanted to point out with this thread, is that just because your child meets the laws and requirements to not be in boosters any more doesn't mean you need to take them out of their seats. They think the boosters are cool and fight over who gets to sit in it! ( they only need it if they sit in the captain's chairs) It's funny.
