We are picking up a spare base soon... for now DH wants the one we have in his Jeep because we will be coming home in it.

I see that on the leave-in base there is a strap for the UAS system (or Latch) in the US. I cannot use this system in the Jeep. I cant find if I am supposed to remove this strap if I cant use it... it goes through where the seatbelt will go and I am worried it might interfere with the lapbelt strap. I have been able to unhook each end from the sides of the base but other than removing 2 screws under the clip that locks the belt in place I cant figure out how to remove it.... IF I am supposed to remove it.

Anyone have ideas?

Don't remove it!

There are two slots at the rear of the seat where the LATCH connectors hook on the base itself when it's not in use. Look in your manual. There should be a section titled "LATCH connector storage" or something along those lines. Hook them in and tighten and then install with lapbelt.
