So we finally installed our Keyfit yesterday (I *thought* I was in labor, but better late than never, right! )

We have the base installed with LATCH as tight as it can possibly go. The bubble placement is correct, and it visually looks correct to me. The back side of the base, the side closest to the back of the seat, is very snug, but I can slide the front back and forth. When we attach the car seat to it, I can push it from side to side on the front.

I know that some movement is normal since there is no tether at the front, but how much is safe? I'm so used to the Britax Marathon and Regent that have tethers and don't budge at all.

Should I be concerned?

there should be less then 1inch of movement at the belt path, you are going to have movement at the top....hth

We have this seat and at first i was so worried about this as well. We use the seatbelt though. But when there is a weight of a baby in it, it doesnt move much. Like the poster above me said, the movement was at the top, not by the seatbelt.

I have the Keyfit 30 as well, and LOVE IT! It is so easy to get her in and out of the car and put her in the stroller too. I use the latch, and there is some movement at the front too. If you are concerned it isn't installed correctly though, you can take it to have it checked for proper installation. Most fire stations do this.

Good luck!
