So we just bought our new (to us) van today & we installed the kids seats.

I am not sure if Troys is in right. I had to use the lap/shoulder belt because their is no latch (its a 99 Town & County). The front of the seat hangs off of the van seat. Is this allowed? Does it look okay? It does not move at the belt bath but I'm not sure about the front end.

And here is Rachels MyRide. It is in the solid! I was so proud of myself. I've never installed either kids seat with the seat belt. We always did latch in our Caliber.

** Her seat is not touching the front seat at all. I made sure of it. **

They look good to me

And yes, the front of the CA is allowed to wrap around the edge of the seat

Oh, I wanted to ask if you could get top tether anchors retrofitted in your van? That FFing seat really needs to be top tethered. Cally our local dealership and ask them about it. Our first one was free, and paid like $20 for the 2nd.

I tried to call the dealership yesterday and their service department was closed but the sales guy I talked to said that yes we could get the top teether installed. He didn't say how much but he did say he knows that they sell the part & will install it. We def plan on getting at least 2 installed for right now.

Awesome

What seat will your newbie be using once he/she arrives? Will you mover Troy to the back row? (something to think about when getting tether anchors installed).

Baby is using a Baby Trend infant seat - its the one we bought when I was pregnant with Rachel. The date on is January 2009 so its still good & we figure we can save the money we'd spend on a new infant seat for the convertible seat.

Right now we're not sure if we may move both Troy & Rachel to the back or just Troy. The captain chairs have the option of being removed. We were thinking it would be easier to take the one behind the driver out then this way we have easier access to the back row. DH is worried that with two RF car seats in the captain chairs it will be hard to get back there & right now its a bit tight to go around Troys seat and get back there.

So we were thinking of maybe just getting Troys seat & the 3 in the back with top teethers for now.

I wouldn't buy a new infant seat either

I agree with you about 2 rear facing seats in the middle row, that would make it rather difficult to get into the back row. If I had 3 kids, I'd do it the way you're thinking about doing it, by removing one of the captains chairs
