My son is 6 months old, weighs just shy of 20lbs, and is about 27in. He is just about out of his infant seat, so it is time to find a convertable one.

I am trying to decide between the MyRide65, Safety 1st Air and Safety 1st Alpha Omega.

I currently drive a grand am, but will most likely a new vehicle (possible an explorer), so not sure how much size will be an issue.

Any thoughts or things to consider would be great!

Thanks!

First and foremost I would cross the Safety 1st Alpha Omega off your list. It will be outgrown very quickly forward facing and it makes an absolutely horrific booster (this seat should never be used as a booster). I really think it's a waste of money, you can get a way better seat for the same price (or cheaper).

Both the My Ride 65 and the Complete Air are great seats. We have the My Ride 65 and we love it.

I suggest you go to your local Babies R Us and look at both of these seats, you can leave your driver's license at the customer service desk and take the seats outside to install them in your car. This will give you a better feel for which seat you like best. Then, if Babies R Us doesn't have the cover you want for the seat, you can buy or order the seat of your choice from another store. I looked at the My Ride 65 at Babies R Us, but Target had the cover I wanted, so that's where I bought it.
