Hi ladies,

Just wondering how the my ride fits in small cars. My Subaru is a smaller hatch back and the infant seat fits in the back behind the passenger seat but my knees are almost at the dash so when the whole family is in the car I'm the only one who can sit in the passenger seat, DH can't. Not sure if the passenger side airbag is all that safe for me either. I was hoping to find a convertible car seat that will give us a little more room on the passenger side and I was looking at the my ride because it rear faces longer than most in that price range. Any recommendations?

I've got the MyRide 65 in my Nissan Versa (small & hatchback). We have a little more room in the passenger seat than we did with the infant seat (I had a huge one- the Graco Snugride 32), but not tons.

My husband has a Safety 1st Complete Air in his Jeep Patriot (also fairly small car), and the passenger seat is also very tight. I'm 5'3" and can comfortably be the passenger in both cars but my DH is 6'2" and always has to drive. Good luck!

The Safety First Complete Air might be a better choice. You can often get it in the same price range as the MyRide, and it has a super upright install for older infants and toddlers. When your child can hold up his/her head, you don't need to install it so the line on the side is parallel to the ground. It can be as upright at 30 degrees.

Do you have a Babies R Us nearby? You can try out seats there in your vehicle to see if it fits. You either leave your license at customer service, or an employee will come out with you.

Both seats have the same RFing limit of 40lbs, but the CA is taller, meaning it may last longer if your child is of average weight. The CA's FFing limit is 50lbs compared to the MyRide's 65lbs. However, since the MyRide's shell is shorter than the CA by 3", the CA will last just as long as the MyRide. You have to consider both shell height and weight limits. The MyRide is good for kids with short torsos or kids who are in the 75th+ percentile in weight but not in height. The CA is good for kids with long torsos or tall kiddos.
